BPL review..

Haha.. My turn to give Premiership reviews. One thing bad about me though : I don't watch 'em. Not a single match, I'll have you know. All the reviews I'm about to give are just based on opinions, results, and what I hear. So here goes..

Team(s) of the week:
1) Stoke City - Registered their first win of the season in some style. Despite a fightback from Villa, Stoke never gave up, and won in the end. Left it till the last minute, before Mamady Sidibe scored the decisive goal.
2) Fulham - You'd never expect Arsenal to get beaten at this early stage of the league. It's only their 2nd game, and they have already suffered a defeat. Hangeland scored the winning goal, giving The Cottages their first victory. Bit of shocking. Umm. Credit to Fulham.
3) Liverpool - You may find this choice weird, but credit to the boys in red. Falling behind to a wonder strike by substitute Mido, they fought their way back to victory. And leaving it till the last minute as well. Well.. Need me to tell you who scored it? Keep reading.

Player of the Week - It has to be Steven Gerrard. What a way, and what a time to win the game for the Reds. Criticised for lack of fitness, scoring the match winner will surely lift some doubts about that. Once again, Captain Fantastic saving Liverpool when it matters most. Haa.. Did I tell you he scored in front of the Kop?
Score it like Gerrard : Very Simple. First of all, you lift up your legs...

Then you move your legs towards the ball, and make the ball move towards goal in a speed of light...

Then you go crazy..

Note - I'm sure by now Middlesbrough, and Liverpool fans as well, will always remember Gerrard for the goals he scored against 'Boro the past few seasons. Haa.. Did I tell you all the goals Gerrard scored against 'Boro during the past few seasons were also at the Kop end? Weird isn't it? Not sure if coincident is the right word.. ZzZ Think by now 'Boro will be SO SICK OF HIM scoring against them..
Commendator: "Aurelio, too strong and too focus. Lift it to El Zhar. El Zhar to Alonso.. Cross it into the area. Not a good clearence, and it falls for Gerrard...! He has won it for Liverpool!... *pause* All the prematch talk was about the Spaniard Fernando Torres, but it's the Scousers Carragher and Gerrard who has done it! How many times, has Gerrard won it for Liverpool.."
Highlight
Season 05-06
Gerrard scoring a stunning goal right into the right side top corner of the net. One of the great goals.
Season o6-o7
Gerrard scored yet another stunning goal, the same side, only this, it's a the bottom corner, to open the scoring of the game. It also took Gerrard into double figures for that season.
Season 07-08 - Totally dominated by El Nino.

Scoring-against-Spurs-on-debut Award: Djibril Cisse
What an award this is. Scoring twice on debuts, and coincidently, both against Spurs, France international Djibril Cisse haas surely made his name at White Hart Lane for scoring against Tottenham, not scoring FOR Tottenham. Weird isn't it? However, you better believe it. When he made his debut for Liverpool, he scored against Tottenham to tie things up, denying Spurs victory. Four years after that, he has returned, this time signing for Sunderland on loan from French club Marseille. Hence the name of the award, he scored against Spurs on his Sunderland debut, only this time, he won it for Sunderland. Final score: Tottenham 1 Sunderland 2

Ps - This is Tottenham's second consecutive defeat, after the opening day defeat to Middlesbrough, which also ended 2-1.

Hmm.. Think that is it for the moment. Oo yeah, forgotten to add.. Manchester City beat West Ham United with an imoressive 3-0 scoreline. Surely Hughes is doing something to lift City up. Elano double, with Sturridge opening the scoring.
