Looking forward to Year 2

So I got my results for Year 1 Semester 2's final. Ain't that good, but not too bad. The main thing is I cleared myself of probation, and I don't care how I do it, even if it's ugly. It could have been better, but nevertheless, it's how it is. Always this saying: Don't game too much. Study harder. These advices should have been taken long ago, but heck. Guess I just have to do better next semester. Still, looking forward to the next sem.

Only yOu would understand how much this results means to me.

To my grandfather...

This poem is dedicated to my grandfather, who passed away last Thursday (21st May 2009):

Before me, a lifeless person
Lying down on his bed
Not moving
For his soul
Has went Home
An elderly man
Who lived for 3 generations
His own, his children's, and his grandchildren's
Lived a fruitful live he did
Planting churches
Pastoring some of it
Even took care of his cousins
Loving God lots
And God loving him as well
Blessed with many children
And thus many grandchildren were born
Me being one of them
So this I say to my grandfather:
I may not know you
As well as I should have
But I know that if it weren't for you
I wouldn't be here
So thank you
Ran a good race you did
But every race has an ending
So if this is your end,
Let it be a fitting end.
Rest in peace.

Funny Story..

Once a upon a time, my aunt was driving on her way to some place somewhere in some country. As she was driving. she realised that she did not bring her purse along, which had her IC in it. Recalling back, she remembered that she left it at her mother's house. Deciding not to panic, she decided to call her mother, only for her maid to pick up. The following was the conversation that took place:

Aunt: "Aida (Maid), tolong check kalau dompet saya kat rumah tak?"

Aida: "Ok..."

*After a moment of silence*

Aida: "Ya, ada."

Aunt: "Tolong check kalau IC ada kat dalam ke tak?"

Aida: "Ada."

However, my aunt wasn't too convinced whether the maid got the right thing or not, so she asked the following question:

Aunt: "Dalam dompet tu ada apa lagi?"

*Taking out another card*

Aida: "Ini kad semua putih la."

Aunt: "Ada apa kat kad itu? Tolong sebutkan."

Aida: "Aida dulu tak skolah la (She had very little education during her young age, indicating that she cannot read the card)."

Aunt: "Takpa, baca aje."

Aida: "Ok.. Errr.. B... L... A..."

Aunt: "Ok ok, stop stop. Tak paya baca lagi"

And she started laughing.

The words that's on the card was:

INTENTIONALLY BLANK

My First Xl..

The season has come to an end, with Manchester United winning their third Barclays Premier League title consecutively. So, after a highly entertaining season.. well, every season is this entertaining, I give you, MY best first Xl. Reminder again, that I'm not expert soccer pundit or whatever, so here goes.

Goalkeeper: Mark Schwarzer (Fulham)
Man, you just got to give it to him. Forget the likes of Reina, Van der Sar, or Cech, this plucky Australian gets my choice for goalkeeper of the season. Ever consistent in the league, keeping 14 clean sheets and making close to 140 saves. He's also one of the reason why Fulham are pushing for a place in the inaugural Europa League, and also one of the reason why Fulham are at the top half of the table instead of the bottom. Already 36 (37 on October 6th), he still has a lot to give, and with his experience, it will surely prove valuable to Fulham, in which will be Middlesbrough's lost.

Right-back: Glen Johnson (Porstmouth)
The England fullback is becoming a permanent fixture not only in Pompey's first Xl, but also in England's. The former West Ham academy is getting the recognition he needs, which he did not get during his time at West Ham and also Chelsea. With 3 goals and 4 assists, he's the chosen right back for me. He's also quite a versatile defender, able to play in the right wing, and offer an extra attacking option. If he can keep this up, England would have found a new replacement for Gary Neville.

Centre back: Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United)
The Serbian international defender was one of the reason why The Red Devils are champions this season. Not only is he an ever consistent performance, holding the United back line, his poweress in front of goal has also seen him being nominated as one of the players of the season, which was won by his fellow teammate Ryan Giggs, and scoring four goals as a centre back in never easy, so give him credit. His only drawback this season was being sent off twice - ironically, both against title rivals Liverpool.

Centre back: Brede Hangeland (Fulham)
He was also one of the smart buys by manager Roy Hodgson. 6ft5in tall, this Norwegian was also one of the main stays of Fulham this entire season, and will be well remembered by Aresnal fans for scoring his only goal of the season against them, which proved to be the match winner in that game. However, it's his strong andcalm authoritative performance that stood out, and has certainly attracted many suitors. Fulham will have to do well to keep him here.

Left back: Leighton Baines (Everton)
The former Wigan man gets my vote for this position not only for his strong determination in defending, but also for his ability to pick out his teammates to score goals. Getting seven assist (and also a goal) for Everton this season is quite handy, and despite getting injured during the second quarter of the season, he bounced back, and has managed to get back his left back position. Capello, look out.

Right wing midfielder: Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool)
Underrated usually, this Dutchman has once again proved how valuable he is to the Reds. His high-stamina, hard work of roaming all over the pitch, and particularly this season, having the knack of scoring important goals at the right time is also one of the reason why he is my pick for this position. 12 goals and 6 assist was his credit, and despite being 29 already, he doesn't show any signs of losing stamina, or, not just yet.

Centre midfield: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Is there anything else to say about this man? Once again, consistent performance by the Liverpool captain this season, not only in terms of scoring goals, but leading Liverpool to a title challenge this season. He has also once again saved Liverpool a couple of times this season, with the game against Middlesbrough perhaps the most memoriable one, scoring deep into injury time. His performance this season has also won him the PFA Player of the Year award, though he would be looking to add more trophies to the Liverpool cabinet instead of his own, notable, the Barclays Premier League. He's got 16 goals and 9 assist to his credit.

Centre midfield: Stephen Ireland (Manchester City)
Controversial figure before this, Ireland became one of the stars this season with a superb display of attcking football, and being the main man in City's midfield. He has also link up well with new arrival Robinho, and was one of the main reasons why City could push for a top-four place (at first), before poor away form costed them dearly. With 9 goals and an amazing 10 assist, he's one of the future prospect to look out for.

Left wing midfield: Luka Modric (Tottenham Hotspur)
You may think that this is a weird choice, or someone else like Ashley Young deserves it, but the Croatian gets my pick. Initially signed to play somewhere in the middle, he couldn't gell well in the PL while under Ramos. However, ever since Redknapp came, he was transformed, and even though he was assigned to the left, he played superbly well. It was also there he became more dangerous, and he contributed 3 goals, and creating 8 others.

Forwards: Nicholas Anelka (Chelsea)
A Frenchmen who has plight his trades at the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Bolton, comes to another club, this time in London. And did he so not fail in his task to deliver, scoring 18 times and creating 5 others. Despite going a little quiet after Hiddink came to replace Scolari, the fierce much-travelled striker managed to bang in more goals. He has also been a key figure to the Blues challenge this season, and although they have fallen on most fronts, the FA Cup is still up for grabs, so expect him to terrorist the Toffees defence.

Forwards: Kevin Davies (Bolton Wanderes)
At first, the departure of Anelka was hurting enough, but club captain Kevin Nolan following suit made it worse. This meant that Davies had to bear quite a lot of responsibilities for the club, including becoming the club's next captain. However, he has done exceptionally well, being in his most prolific form, scoring 11 goals and creating 3 others, and despite the Trotters not doing too well this season, at least the fans will know that there is someone who can lead the team next season.

Looking forward to season 2009/2010

I Have A Dream - Martin Luther King

I have a dream
That one day
This nation will rise up
And live the true meaning of its creed
"We hold these truths
To be self-evident:
THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL
I have a dream today

I have a dream
That one day
Every valley shall be exalted
Every hill and mountain shall be made low
Every rough places will be made plain
And the crooked places shall be made straight
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed
And all flesh
SHALL SEE IT TOGETHER

Year One Semester Two's ending..

At long last, it has come to an end. The everyday dreading of the next paper has all past us by, and now we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Although there's still the results to worry about, for the moment, we couldn't be bothered to think about it.

Had BBQ yesterday night, and it was totally fun and full of laughter. There was of course, first the setting up of things and food. I have to admit, those who were preparing for the food has surely put in a lot of effort into it, despite being in the midst of exam. Thanks gals.

Side-track. A few of us were trying out this electronic cooking stove. We couldn't get it to work, because it just automatically shuts down after a minute or so. We kept trying and trying, yet it still wouldn't work. It was only later we found out why: the stove couldn't detect the pot that was being use to cook, 'cause it can only detect aluminium pots. zZz

Anyways, one of them brought theirs, and we can finally cook. Yours truly here deep-fried French fries, and man, it was nice (for an amateur cooking. Hee) Cooked a few more rounds before letting others do it. Pity, couldn't save some for yOu. ^^

The BBQ then started to heat up, with more and more of our coursemates and juniors coming in. Someone brought his stereo set to blast music, man was it good. The host made some "lai-chi aga aga". Was it fantastic! I literally had my dinner based on only just that alone. Hehe. While eating, two of my coursemates took out water-guns (heh), and started shooting people. I ended up having a "gun-fight" with one of them, and was a little wet.

Then the usual playing cards and pokers routine began. We played "Big 2 a.k.a cho-dai-di", then later played heart-attack. This time however, we had a new game: Mafia. I'd never played Mafia with them before, so playing it was fun. I conducted the first two rounds of the game, then in the third game, I joined in.

Tips: This is a new tip that I got from one of my coursemates concerning this game, and I'll have you know, it "wicked sick". Here goes: As the mafia, you often have to choose someone to kill. But here's the catch. You can have an option of killing yourself. That way, no one will know who is the Mafia, and will have to play till the end, only to discover that the Mafia "killed" himself/herself. Wicked huh?

That's what I tried yesterday. I got the position of the Mafia, and well, got through many rounds, almost being suspected of being the mafia. Escaped, and down to the final four, I decided to try that strategy, knowing that I would have no chance to win the game ('cause I'm the primary suspect of the four.) Little did I know, that the "doctor" healed me later on! Here I am, trying kill myself because I had too much fun, and the "doctor" decided to save my ass! In the end I gave up, admitting that I'm the one, 'cause I couldn't contain myself anymore. After that, a few of us went up to visit one of our coursemate who was feeling very tired. Had a little chat there, and there seems to be a lot of complains about the Danish house management. Oh well...

Then things started to get a little crazy.

The host was shouting a little, wanting to play Big 2. At one look at her face, I knew something was wrong, then only to realise: She's drunk. She was still half conscious, but the other half of her was drunk. She laughed a little crazier than usual, and she was DEFINITELY not normal.

We then went on as planned: playing water balloons. We filled up the balloons, and started throwing at each other. One of them burst the balloon directly on top of me, and I was drenched. Overall, half of us got wet. However, the host wasn't satisfied, as she wanted the people inside to play along. To cut the story short, in the end, almost all of us got wet, but amazingly, only 3 people got fully drench, and they so happened to be the organisers of the BBQ.

Before going off, we made sure that the host was safe inside her house first, before going off. Ended up coming back at about 2 plus. Tired, and sleep.

What an end to Year One Semester Two. Pictures coming up soon I hope.

Another quote.. ^^

"There are many a times, yOu helped me, without knowing that yOu actually did."

Shame..

Imagine this. A room full of people, wearing black and white, shouting at each other, "Get out! Get out!", like it's their own house. People acting like little kids, fighting over a small toy. As time went on, the whole place started turn into a circus, except their performance was not "good" enough to qualify them as CLOWNS.

If you have been following what has been happening of late, you would know what I'm talking about. Yes, I'm talking about the incident that happened at the Assembly in Ipoh. What a shame.. These people have lost themselves completely with that kind of a show. It was a good thing the Raja Muda was patient enough to wait for his speech to be delivered, as it was delayed from morning to afternoon, no thanks to whatever happened inside the Assembly.

What's with A wanting the B's speaker to get out, and the B's speaker wanting certain people to go out before the whole thing can ACTUALLY begin. A then wants THEIR speaker to be in charge of that meeting, with the B totally against it. Even when A succesfully managed to get their speaker up there, B's speaker remained rooted to his seat, sparking scuffles between them, even up to the point of wanting to pull B's speaker away from his seat. The whole Assembly was totally not in order. NOT. ONE. BIT.

When a police officer came in, they all became quiet. Literally old school. Those times when students shout, "Watch out! The headmaster's coming! Back to your seats quick!" The moment he disappears, "Alright. Coast is clear." zZz

Can't you people be a bit more civilized? I mean, you are our states leaders. Pick yourselves up a little bit. The word I want to give you here is "Sense and Sensibility". Sounds familiar? 'Cause if it doesn't, go and ask Jane Austen.

Sometimes you just wish someone was daring enough to go into the Assembly and say:

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. We're tonight's ENTERTAINMENT."

Wao..

Today's paper, Critical Reading and Thinking: Mind-blowing paper. It was crazy. One paper that you have so little to read, yet so much to think and do, so much so that I couldn't finish it! Apa hell, but it was a great paper. Really it was. Wish every paper was like this, then we don't have to study so much.

Next up: Semantics, Saturday 9a.m-11a.m
