This is in the wake of the recent storm hitting the United States, with all roads and public transport closed down, adn really, global warming is coming.
Alright, let's talk about the weather closer to home. Malaysia. There use to be a time where we have "seasons" (inverted comas 'cause we never really had it. Blek =P): rain or shine. Simple. It either shines super hot everyday, or it pours. And if I'm not mistaken, usually during the beginning of the year, the first few months is "shine", then after that it pours. Few months later it shines again, then comes the Monsoon season somewhere during the 3rd quater of the year.
Not this year.
2010 has seen shine and pour, shine and pour for the past weeks, and usually, it rains at the wrong time, and it shines at the wrong time too (yes I'm complaining. Meh). Anyhow, that's not the problem. Problem is, it's happening this way.
Gone were the days when we were rest-assured that it wouldn't rain during a period of time. Even during this month, people are armed with umbrellas and raincoats, not sure when to anticipate rain. And when it's too hot, umbrella comes in handy too.
But really, there's no denying it: global warming is here. The fact that America is getting hit so badly, and we here in Malaysia are anxiously looking out at the clouds near the mountains everyday, shows that it is coming indeed.
Does it sound like I'm scaring you? =P
We can't stop it from happening now, but we can prevent it from getting worse. But heck, I'm sure we knew this before, yet people are still polluting the earth everyway possible. So yeah, enough said.
Word of advice: All of us should beware, and watch out for the weather. Do take care of yourselves out there, and especially during this festive period, may all of you be safe.
Happy Chinese New Year. =)
