A Sunday =)

Haha it's been a while since I last posted something like this, but today's Sunday is a bit... different.

First of all, was the return of a couple of old friends: Willian, Pei-Qin, and yes Jeffery! =D Boy it's been a long time since I saw these people. Nice to see them back. =)

Second, was a great speaker by the name of Pastor Paul Ang. Funny man too, but full of words of wisdom. God definitely spoke through him, and through him I was spoken to, which I will write in my next post. =)

Then, FIFA 11-ing with Adrian Yap, Samuel Lopez and Lavina. With the late addition of Sam and Adrian's friend, Abel. Couldn't win any of the games at all - even drawing against a one-star team XD - but well it's all about the fun. =)

And yeah, my sister came back!!! =D Though it's not that long ago since I last saw her, but still. Well she's back for Chinese New Year this time. Happy days.

But not too happy in other states in this country. Heard a friend of mine in Segamat is experiencing flood. Prayers with you, and other areas that are affected.

Improved Football

Boy what a victory that was (against Wolverhampton). Not only was it an emphatic victory, it was a good, solid AWAY victory.

The reason why I emphasize the word "away" is because we haven't won away from home in a long time. Apparently Liverpool only won twice on the road in the whole of 2010! That's a poor record in Liverpool's standard. Ok, we lost another 3 more on the road this time (Blackburn, Manchester United and Blackpool), which all the more makes the Wolves victory sweeter. And ohh, perhaps I didn't add this - the last time we won at the Molineux was like.... 50 years ago I think. That's a long time ago.

So to win with a pretty big scoreline (3-0) is quite an improvement. Kenny Dalglish's emphasis on 'pass&move' seems to be working pretty well. Less hoofing the ball for someone who don't seem to be able to win much headers, but instead, passing to make him run, which is his asset. Not only that, controlling that crucial area in midfield, pouring men forward to support the frontman, full back bombing forward.

Ever since Dalglish came back, he has often use a three-man central midfield, though rotating between Christian Poulsen and Jay Spearing. The former is coming to life, after receiving much, much criticism earlier in the season. It was his pass that allowed fellow central midfielder Raul Meireless to run into the empty space and create the opening goal. Also, with Poulsen in midfield, it allows Meireless to support Torres in attack, though Liverpool will be boosted by the return of the one legendary skipper and number 8 to the pitch. The latter though, will hope he gets more chance to play in the future. He showed what he can do when called upon, putting up impressive performance against Real Madrid (2008-2009) and recently, against Everton.

The three goals were all well taken, though Meireless' goal got everyone buzzing, most of them saying that it could be the "Goal of the Season" contender. Indeed it was spectacular. But more so was the 3rd goal.

Never have I seen a goal that involved this much passing: 30 passes. Of the eleven, only the Martins didn't get a touch: Kelly and Skrtel. It started with a clearance from Lucas, ending with a Glen Johnson pass which saw Dirk Kuyt broke free down the left, run down the penalty area, got tackled, but still somehow managing to get a half-chanced ball to Torres, whose swiftly hoof the ball into the net.

Conclusion: Worth the watch. More of this please. Yes team may learn to counter Liverpool's 'pass&move', but at least it's better than hoofing aimlessly. If the Redmen can keep playing like this, who knows? We might just win the league. Next season =D

Well, that person has a point there, but how about seeing it this way? Yes God has designed us to be how He wants us to be, but we all have a choice of who we want to be, and it boils down to only two choices (1) be who God wants you to be, (2) or be who you choose to be.

God can design you to be Exhibit A, but if you choose to be Exhibit B, He can't stop you. All He can do is hope you can come back to Him, and choose to be what He wants you to be. That too, has to be decided.

BUT HE IS BACK!!!! =D

Yeah he's been back for a while now. A week to be precise. But yes KENNY DALGLISH IS BACK AT HELM AT HIS BELOVED CLUB LIVERPOOL.

Surprising? Not really. The Kop have been chanting his name since last year, and it's only a matter of time before Roy Hogdson left.

Things hasn't gone too well since though, with Dalglish losing his first two games, tho he didn't really have time to prepare for the Manchester United game. Apparently, he didn't even had the chance to choose the team sheet. Still, even with 10 men, Liverpool played a more spirited game, thought we lost 1-0. As for the defeat to Blackpool, we started off way too well, scoring with our first shot on goal. However Blackpool overturned the deficit and won 2-1.

And today, we have.... Everton. Yes, the blue half of Merseyside coming over to compete. The fiercest of rivals you can ever get. The last game Kenny Dalglish was in charge before he resigned. 20 years ago. Now he's back. Hopefully with vengence. Half joking.

Anyways, all the best to him and Liverpool, and hopefully he can turn things around. Let's get a win! =D

HE IS STILL HERE

Yes the title says it all. Speculations are flying in hot that he could be fired today, but up till date, NOTHING IS HAPPENING.

In case you don't know who I'm referring to, it's none other than our "beloved" Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson.

Yes, the one that everyone's calling his head for. The one that everyone is looking to get sacked. The one that they hope not to see during Liverpool's next big FA Cup game against Manchester United.

Well, almost everyone.

There are still some people out there who still believes that Roy needs time. Legends are starting to come out to voice their support for a manager who is tearing their club apart. Even Ian Rush has voiced his support for Roy.

Yet 98% of the fans want him out. Anfield is starting to be empty. The away side of the opponents stadium that we play in is getting empty too, especially the recent match at Ewood Park. Fans are starting to show their frustration of Roy not being sacked, and as long as he's there, fans will not pay their hard earned money to watch hoof and wait. Who knows, one day they might even decide to boycott an entire match altogether. I'd like to see that happen.

Thing is, we don't want it to happen. We are Liverpool supporters, and we're proud of the team we support. We don't want to write another bad history in the LFC record books, when LFC has already failed to preserve many histories that should have been easily kept. Defeats to Stoke, Wolves and Northampton has broken unwanted records; attendance during the Bolton game was one of the lowest since 1997. Who wants all these? No fans do. Yet, it's all there, old ones broken, unwanted new ones are created. No thanks to him.

At the same time, the new owners are not doing anything. Recent speculation is that they are not happy, but not sacking him at the same time. Perhaps due to the tight schedule, 'cause after MU we have Blackpool and Everton - teams that could possibly do a double over us. That is perhaps understandable to some extend, but keeping Roy at the dugout is not going to make any difference either.

Enough said. Bottomline: He has to go BEFORE the MU game. And I said "before", because if he's still manager, Liverpool will DEFINITELY crash out of the FA Cup. If Liverpool change their manager now, they might still have a chance. And perhaps that manager could save Liverpool's season. Fingers cross on that though.

I guess only Sir Alex wants him to stay, 'cause only then will he be in the knowledge that Liverpool will continue to struggle, and that he'll have one rival less to compete with for the BPL title (as Spurs and City are on a rise). He'll also be guaranteed that his side will go through the FA Cup with EASE.

Every morning, I wale up, turn on SkySports, hoping to see him get fired. I can only hope that day will come QUICK.

Happy New Year 2011!

Ahha. So here we are. Finally. In a new year.

NEW YEAR DAMN IT!

Something worth being happy about? Don't know, 'cause it all feels the same to me, except for knowing the fact that it's a new year, which means everything starts back in January again. Which also means classes are starting soon. Which is means there are new things to look forward to. New visions. New missions. New plans. New hope. (New earthquake too, again in Chile.)

Really? Unless there are really such gungho people, most people will create New Year Resolutions, and forget about it by the end of January. Then we'll all start to live like usual. Live like last year. Typical? You decide.

Also, people look forward to change, but do they? Especially this group of people. Sigh. The one area that NEEDS such a change. One can only dream.

Let me rephrase that. One can only DARE to dream.

Well, 2011 also marks the last year of my studies. In fact, I only have half a year left. In other words, one more semester. Can't imagine time really flew that fast, since the year I left for Kampar to study. The friends I've made, the things I've learned. Phew.

However, the next important question comes in quickly: What to do after that? Journalist? Teacher? Tutor? Tuition teacher? Football analyse? Football writer?

I wish for the last two but I don't think my dad will support me in that. Musician? I thought of it, but I'm not qualified, especially the theory part. Well, I guess I'll figure it out.

Ohh. 2011 also means it's halfway through the football season. Liverpool is still unbelievably stuck with the same manager, and I use the word "stuck" 'cause we don't want him there, yet he seems to ALWAYS buy himself some time. Everytime he gets his ass on the line, Liverpool become worldbeaters to save his job. He got himself into hot water of late, which I won't bother going into detail. All I know is, we want Roy Hodgson out now. So simple, yet so hard to do. Sigh
