I was once told, that as the eldest boy of the family, I will one day have to take care of my family members, taking charge of things. In other words, means having responsibilities.
Didn't really know what it meant it first.. In fact, didn't even care anyway. Mean, to hell with responsibilities dude. I can't even manage my own matters properly.. Don't even mention responsibilities. Anyway, I do have an elder sister, but my dad still says that I'll be the one in charge.. Well, just because I'm a boy. Heck.
It wasn't till recently I found out the true meaning of it. Dude, you bet your life it was tough. It was when my grandmother slipped and fell. She crack her hand, and none of my parents were at home. I was having dinner with my friends when I got that news. Boy, did i not freak out. I couldn't even enjoy my dinner properly. I then rushed back to take her to the hospital with the help of my friends. She was then taken care of, and everything was back to normal again.
What turned out to be an eventful evening became a very important lesson to me. It was during that situation that I learned how to handle this kind of situation on my own. I've never done this before, and now especially without my parents (my mom joined me later by the way), I thought, I'm not going to be able to settle this myself. Thankfully, i had my friends with me. Well, at least next time I'll know what to do.
One thing about responsibilities like this is that, it requires patience, clear mind to think ( of what to do) perseverance, and.. patience.^^ However, without these, it wouldn't be easy.
I'm sure there'll be many more responsibilities that'll come my way. This is only the beginning. That incident is only the first, and I can bet you, it wouldn't be the last. You can question all you want about what kind of responsibilities you'll face in the future, but it will come.
One thing's for sure though: all these will help one mature. In what way i do not know. It all depends on the situation and how one looks at it and settle it. ah well.. Thats why God gives us problems isn't it? It's to help us grow. Not only for our own good, but also to grow stronger in Him. It's also through problems that we find out about responsibilities. For that part, erm.. you'll understand when you get into trouble. LOL
conclusion: amen to troubles and responsibilities... ?^^
