Arms Open Wide - Hillsong United

Take my life I lay it down
At the cross where I am found
All I have I give to You oh God

Take my hands and make them clean
Keep my heart in purity
That I may walk in all You have for me

Oh here I stand
Arms open wide
Oh I am Yours
And You are mine

Take my moments and my days
Let each breath that I take
Be ever only for You oh God

My whole life is Yours
I give it all
Surrendered to Your Name
And forever I will pray
Have Your way
Have Your way

Quit whinning already...

Yeah, believe it or not, I have TWO midterms tomorrow. Not forgetting that I have ANOTHER one on Saturday, and loads of assignments to be handed up within the next few weeks, starting with Academic Writing.

The damn problem is, I'M.NOT.A.BIT.WORRIED!!! Why? I mean, I do think about it, but I'm not worried! Crap.

I'm worried that I'm not worried.

John 14:27 "Peace I give to you, My peace I leave with you; Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

She's gone...

There seems to be a lot of high profile deaths for the past few weeks. First Michael Jackson, now Yasmin Ahmad.

She may not be as famous as MJ, but she sure has earned a recognition among many Malaysians.

Including me.

Never have I seen, a Malaysian film director so talented before. I remember watching one of her movies, Sepet, and the follow up, Gubra, during my Foundation year in 2007, and I had to say, it was good. Not only that, the many advertisements she created during the festive season, it was quite touching as well.

Well, now she's gone. And I wonder who (at the moment) can replace her.

R.I.P Yasmin Ahmad

We Malaysians will always remember you.

Till I See You - Hillsong United

The greatest love that anyone could ever know
That overcame the cross and grave to find my soul
And 'til I see You face to face and grace amazing takes me home
I'll trust in You

With all I am I'll live to see Your kingdom come
And in my heart I pray You'd let Your will be done
And 'til I see You face to face and grace amazing takes me home
I'll trust in You

I will live to love You
I will live to bring You praise
I will live a child in awe of You

You are the voice that calls the universe to be
You are the whisper in my heart that speaks to me
And 'til I see You face to face and grace amazing takes me home
I'll trust in you

You alone are God of all
You alone are worthy Lord
And with all I am my soul will bless Your name

Listening

Recently, I came up with a simple theory about people and the world of listening. Mind you I'm not an expert. This is just my opinion. Here goes.

In this world, there are two types of listeners: Genuine and non-genuine. Genuine listeners are those who can listen to ANYONE, whereas non-genuine listeners only choose people to listen to, and they don't listen to the rest. So how do we identify whose genuine and whose not? Simple.

1. Non-genuine listeners, as mentioned earlier, will only choose people to listen to. This means that to others, they will not give their full attention. They will tend to look away, let themselves be distracted to other things, and so on.

2. Another type of non-genuine listeners will tend to bring the focus to THEMSELVES. For example, if A is sharing with X, and X suddenly shares about an experience that X experienced before, but the "spotlight" SHIFTS to X, it ends up X doing the talking when A is having a problem. Genuine listeners are different. They may share as well, but they will lead it back to the speaker's problem.

3. The next type of non-genuine listeners will try to solve the speaker's problem quickly. Example, A is sharing with X, but X thinks X knows what to do with the problem, and tries to help A out, by telling A what A should do.

4. The last type of non-genuine listeners will try to shut the speaker out quickly. It's somehow related to number 3, though a bit different. Instead of trying to solve the problem, they will say, "Ahh, it's ok. Just don't bother about the situaion. Why think so much?" etc.

Genuine listeners however, are none of the above, WITH the exception of number 1. They will give their best attention, make sure that the speaker is being listened to, affirm the speaker, asks questions to make the speaker share more, and not saying ANYTHING. In the end, if it's required, try to give some advice and be encouraging. It's not just in sharing-problem-conversations; ANY kind of conversation at all for that matter.

Common sense? Ya.

If you readers think you fall under any of the four types, you know what to do, 'cause you either change or be changed. If you think you're genuine, then good for you. Prove it.

You'll never know if anyone needs a listening ear...

Home Language

This is something random that I made up myself. Kinda nice. Hee

When you are home
Your mom will always ask you to:
Do this
Buy that
Pluck those
Wash everything
And one rule
They always make
When nobody's at home
Always lock the gate

You Alone Are God - Hillsong

I confess my hope
In the light of Your salvation
Where I lose myself
I will find You're all I need

Sing my soul
Of the Saviour's love
Sing my soul
Unto God alone

I will meet You here
In the life we call surrender
Let the world I know
Be the glory of Your grace

You alone are God
You alone are God
We declare the glory of Your name

Reign in all the earth
Reign in all the earth Jesus

Gracious me, it's his turn now...

"We would like to think we could offer him a different challenge," said Hughes.

"From my own experience, when you have been with a club a long time, you maybe get to a point when you need a new challenge, when you think a change of scenery would just re-ignite certain things within you.

"It is not a question of money. It's about a different challenge, a different stage in his life and career, and maybe that's why there hasn't been a response because John is seriously thinking in those terms."

Mark Hughes, manager of Manchester City

Retrieved from www.msnsports.skysport.com

Man, this is what money can do to you...

Manchester City, now one of the most richest clubs in the world, are trying their best to be a La Real Madrid, or a La Chelski perhaps: spending their way to success. They did suck at it at first, making a 145 million pound bid for AC Milan playmaker Kaka, who in the end went for Madrid for less than half THAT amount (blek), but now, they ain't doing back. They managed to sign Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn, attract Gareth Barry from Aston Villa, and man are they EVER improving, stealing Carlos Tevez from (guess where), their neighbours and Premier League champions Manchester United! I was kind of impressed, but up till the quote above popped out, then I stopped.

Come on man, anyone can read between the lines. New challenge? Man, John Terry hasn't even won the Champions League with Chelsea yet! That's the only missing medal in his CV at the moment, and that will be what he wants to win with Chelsea. Why would he want to start from scratch again, and try to win everything again? He's too old for that.

Anyways, he's too good for you. He'd probably play for half a season, and decide to go back to Chelsea. And it's not about the money? Or are you trying to say, "in other words, IT'S about the money"? 'Cause as far as I'm concern, he is very well paid at Stamford Bridge, and how much more can you offer him? Man, this is what I call "Twisting and Turning" a story.

Well, if he does sign for City, I'd be VERY. And I mean, VERY, suprised. Whose to know though. This is football. Anything can happen in football.

Just like how Beckham signed for LA Galaxy.

Deleted Scene

To all my readers: The previous post (If you know which one it is) was deleted as I have decided not to simply pass judgement before knowing the whole story. Just so you people know, it's messier than I previously first thought or heard. And I found out today that "he" added another piece of dirt into the picture. Damn it.

Man, God bless this batch of EL students, 'cause there seems to be NO END to all this trouble-making stories and "politics". Well, perhaps that's life.

I need a break. Can I quit?

"You never say you're coming, then you denied you came."

Yeah I know it doesn't make sense, but randomness is bliss^^

Heartless - Kanye West

In the night
I hear 'em talk
The coldest story ever told
Somewhere far along this road
*One lost *one's soul
To *someone so heartless
How could you be so heartless
How could you be so heartless

*
Lyrics changed to mean something different

This and that..

Sometimes I wonder
Why is my life like this
Why is it that
I must have this kind of surroundings
Why can't I have it better
Why can't everything be good for me

Sometimes I wonder
Why must this world
Be as it is
Why must people quarrel
Why are people so stubborn
Why are there so many
Assholes and suckers in this world

Sometimes I wonder
Why can't people be more cooperative
Why can't people be less selfish
Be more caring
And LISTEN more
Instead of wanting people to listen to them

But then again
I've learn
NEVER to ask why
I can ask every other W-es and H
But never "why"

Sometimes I wonder
About this and that

Headhunting....

Note: The meaning of "headhunters" here means people who are looking out for big shots, like chief executive, general managers and so on, not literally "headhunters", where people hunt for ones head.

"Headhunted 3 times, John Harper speaks from experience as he list some useful advice for the hopeful headhuntees."

"Prepare a complete profile so that headhunters will refer to you when approached..."

"Finally, always maintain a good relationship with headhunters..."

GG kau kau.
